"Hikari~" Jun crooned outside Hikari's bedroom door, "Hikari, wake up. It's a new year." Hikari was still like a motionless doll in her bed, all snuggled in the blankets. She twisted and turned in her bed, but she was not yet aroused.
"Hi-kaaaaa-ri~" he sang, pushing open the door. "Cooome~ with~ meeeeeeeee~" Hikari still dozed, unaware of her friends presence. He scratched his head and thought of a new plan to wake her up.
"HIKARIIIIIIIII!" Jun shouted. He danced around Hikari's pink bedroom, singing, "Hikari~ my love, Hikari~ we're gonna celebrate together..." Hikari shot up at hearing Jun sing. She pretended to sleep so she could hear him. His voice wasn't horrible, at least. She was about to fall back asleep when Jun saw her open eyes.
"You're awake!" he shouted, scrambling over to her bed. "C'mon, let's go! My mom's having a big party! Let's GOOOOOOO!" He grabbed her hand without hesitation and yanked her out of bed. He then dashed over to her closet and picked out a short, frilly blue dress. "You'll look beautiful," Jun praised, holding the dress out in front of Hikari. "Now try it on, I won't look." Jun stepped out of the room while Hikari uncomfortably put the dress on. Why am I doing this? she thought. When she buttoned the final button, she opened the door. Jun wasn't there.
"Jun?" she called out. She searched the whole house but there was no sign of him. Sighing, she was about to walk back to her room when-
CRASH! Jun slammed right into Hikari, holding a large white cardboard box. He regained his footing and held out the box. Jun was dressed in a suit (a first-timer) with a pink rose stuck in the shirt pocket. His hair was combed back neatly and his trademark toothy grin flashed on his face. "It's for you," he said, holding out the box. Hikari blushed slightly and placed it down on her dining room table. She lifted off the lid and gasped. "Oh, Jun..."
In the box was a handmade pink sashaying dress. It was complete with a pearl necklace and earrings. Hikari lifted out the contents and found a tiny slip of paper. Jun blushed a crimson shade of red as she read it.
Dear Hikari,
Happy New Year to you. I made you this dress and necklace with pearls I found in Lake Acuity. I hope you like it. I also have one more thing to say. I love you. I think that you're cute. Happy New Year. Love, Jun.
Hikari responded with a peck on his cheek.

"Hey, Silvy, boy~" Kotone said, "It's a New Year. Come on, Silvy." She leaned over Silver's bed, holding his hand. Silver's eyes shot open and saw her. He yelped and swatted her hand away.
"What is wrong with you?" Silver shouted, "It's 1:00 in the morning!" He sat up in his striped Sneasel pajamas, which he quickly concealed with his covers. "And don't call me 'Silvy' again." He heaved a sigh, aware of the fact he wouldn't be able to fall asleep again.
"You should have seen!" Kotone cried, "There were fireworks and everybody was out banging pots-"
"So I heard," interrupted Silver; he could barely fall asleep in the first place.
"We had a good time and we exchanged presents!" Silver's eyes grew to the size of chocolate-chip cookies. He had forgotten to get Kotone a New Year's gift! Kotone clapped her hands excitedly. "I got you something too, Sweetie Silver, so wait a moment!" She scampered out of Silver's bedroom.
"Oh Arceus," Silver whispered aloud, "I think she's cute and I didn't get her anything. What kind of-" Silver choked on his words, "-boyfriend am I?" He stared at his Sneasel, who was now awake on the other side of the room. Sneasel gave him an idea. He meanwhile decided to get dressed until Kotone came back.
Once he put on his signature fleece top and sweatpants, Kotone came walking in carrying a huge wrapped box. "Surprise!" she squealed as she placed the box in his hands. He tore off the green ribbon and tore off the white wrapping paper. Silver stared down at the box's contents. "It's-"
"
Pokemon Soul Silver for the DS!" Kotone gasped, trying to act surprised about her own gift. "And a black DSi too!" Silver stared at the back of the box, dumbfounded. There was a picture his face. "Uh.." He stood up, tossing the game onto his bed. He placed his hands on Kotone's waist.
"Silvy, what-"
"Shh. This is my gift to you." Silver kissed her on the lips. He hated himself for it.

"Happy New Year, Sapphire," Ruby yawned, staring at the TV from his couch. He held a cup of coffee in one hand and was stroking Nana with the other. Sapphire sat down next to him. She blankly stared at the television. "What is this channel?" she asked. Ruby responded, "It's the Channel 9 news." Sapphire snatched the TV remote out of his hand. Ruby knew it was useless to try and recover it. She switched the channel to "Pokemon Planet."
"Those dang people can't study Pokemon like that!" Sapphire shouted at the program, where a group of scientists were trying to capture a Wooper on film. "They's making a racket tha's gonna scare the critter away!" Ruby smiled.
She looks cute when she's mad, he thought. He decided to take a risk and leaned over to her. His nose drew in the scent of her hair. She noticed what he was up to.
"
OW!" Ruby cried, covering his bleeding nose. Sapphire had kicked him in the nose. "That is my gift- to you." Sapphire stormed out of the room, leaving Ruby crying in despair.
Later, Ruby was sitting in his and Sapphire's Secret Base when he heard the door open. He hid among a pile of plush Pokemon toys and waited. Sapphire called out his name.
"Ruby! Ruby, I- I'm sorry for what I did earlier. I shouldn't have kicked you in the face. I know you're in here. I can smell you." Ruby facepalmed. She knew wherever he was. Sapphire found him and pulled him out of the pile of toys. She could see this time that she hurt him.
Ruby drew her in closer to him, preparing for another kiss. His lips were about to touch her cheek when he felt a slap.
"Fat chance," said Sapphire, and she walked away.

"Yay! It's a new year with my friends!" N squealed with a grin on his face that was so big it was portraying him as a clown. He danced around, holding his Zorua's paws in his hands. He glanced over at Toukou, who was laying on the couch and staring blankly at the wall. "Come DANCE with us! Yay!" N cheered, beckoning her over. He was being so stupid it was cute. She slouched off of the couch and stood up next to N.
"Lookie! We have a new dancing partner!" N clapped, pulling her over. She seemed more interested in Zorua. Toukou was patting his head. At least he can keep quiet. N suddenly tossed Zorua onto the empty couch. He put his hands on Toukou's shoulders and pulled her closer to him.
"N," she nervously asked, "W-what are you doing?" She stared at him with eyes as round as hockey pucks. He stepped back, then forward, then twirled her around. She stood in his arms the whole time, trying to make sense of what was going on. Then he pulled her even closer to him, until their noses were touching, and kissed her.
~For this next paragraph, Toukou is shouting some offensive things at N that I wish to not write and sadly, she says a lot. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.~ Toukou kicked N out of the house, him screaming, "That was your present!"
Old Rival
"Green, is this all really necessary?" Leaf questioned as Green hung up a bunch of cheap decorations. He turned his head to look at her. A chuckle escaped his lips. "No. I wanted to spend time with you in your house. Anyway, where's Red? Out with his girlfriend?"
"She is not his girlfriend, idiot," Leaf snapped, thinking of the little blonde girl in her head. She turned away from Green and said, "You ought to mature a little bit, Green, if you want to be attractive."
"I already am," Green snorted, winking at the fangirls pressed against the windows. Several of them fainted. Leaf rolled her eyes and started to head up the stairs to her room. "I'm going. Away," she remarked, climbing up the stairs. Green watched her until she was completely out of sight. I think she's beautiful, but I can't announce my feelings for her whenever her friend Red is around, he thought. He knew that his rivals, Red and Leaf, were good friends. He sighed at the image of Leaf in his mind, shortly afterwards falling asleep.
An hour later, Leaf came down and found Green sleeping on the couch. She knew Red would be stopping over soon, so she had to get him up and out. She shook him violently, whispering, "Green...Green, wake up, Red's gonna be here soon." Green instead pulled her closer. She tried to wiggle free. But Green had an iron grip.
"I don't care," Green said, absorbing the sweet scent of her hair. Leaf grabbed a magazine off the coffee table by the couch and slapped him in the face. He just chuckled, trying to draw her in closer.
"Let GO, Green! Idiot!"
You're welcome! I see great potential in you. c:
